Our Classroom

We care for your children as if they were one of ours.

Our school provides a variety of educational programs for children ages 3-6.
Immanuel Preschool and Kindergarten uses a hands on, arts based approach to learning. We believe children learn best when given multiple opportunities to explore the world around them. That is why we have themes where children learn everything from "community" to "healthy foods", "plants and ecosystems" and much much more!

Our student's learn:
Play… Yes, we play! What better way to learn than to have opportunity to build with blocks, construct, paint and run around on our playground.  We rotate our classroom materials for children too.  Children have lots of time to choose child-initiated learning toys.

Math… We practice more than just identifying numbers but also classifying, patterning, sorting, counting, addition and so much more!  Our math curriculum is provided through Saxon.

Reading… We work in small groups and introduce early literacy based on the individual child.  We practice phonics sounds, identifying words and letters, and have group story time.  Our reading curriculum is provided through Saxon.

Science… Our school spends time learning about our 5 senses, weather, nature, animals and our beautiful planet Earth.  We do many art projects and sensory experiments as well as spend time cooking in the kitchen!

Writing… Working on fine motor skills is so important during the early years.  Children at age 3 are using scissors, pencils, and other writing instruments.  We practice lacing, puzzles and dotting so when we start printing words we are ready.  Our writing curriculum is provided through Saxon.

Music… We are so blessed to have a teacher’s aide who is musically gifted.  Children learn new songs, play instruments and dance daily.

About Jesus…  Our school is a safe place for children to learn Bible stories and about our loving God through books, skits and puppet shows.  Our religious curriculum is provided through Concordia Publishing.
